i am not sure if i have mentioned this before (i think i have) but i have a fluid problem. every time i start a new environment, my feet swell. it really started this summer when i was standing on my feet all day at the pharmacy. then it started again when i started working at the pharmacy for school and once again when i worked one week over break. adding that to me getting my blood sugars under better control really made my feet swell. it took two weeks for them to get back to normal. i think i am going to start taking an OTC diuretic every night. anyway, while my feet were swollen i went to the doctor. i was weighed and i had gained some weight. of course that can be expected with the swelling and better glucose control. i weighed again at a friends house when my feet were back to normal and the difference was 9 pounds. i was shocked. of course there was probably some error in it; different time of day, different scales, etc. but still even if you calculate in the error, it is still a lot of extra weight to be in you legs.
on another note, i am trying to make one meal for a week - something relatively healthy. this week it was stew. it was really good, but i am getting sick of stew! i still have about 2 servings left. i am going to make chili tomorrow. i have never had this recipe, but my mom has made it and says it's really good- and each serving has 11 carbs. i think baked ziti might be after that.
my new pump was supposed to come in today, but it didn't. hopefully tomorrow. i think i am ready to get back on the pump, it will certainly make life easier. i had my fasting lipid profile done and i got some good results back. everything was under the recommended values. i want to get my LDL and triglycerides lower, though. i felt that they were borderline. however, my doctor is pleased, so that is good. my HDL was really high, which is good. the recommended value is 40 and above and anything above 50 is really good. mine was 56. i learned that for every 1 point that the HDL is raised, it decreases the risk of cardiovascular disease by 2%. pretty good! hopefully with a better diet and more exercise i can lower my LDL & triglycerides.
somebody is mad outside the apartment. they are yelling. yikes.
my parents are coming down to jourdanton this weekend. my dad is going to help me study for some of my classes. i am going to meet them sunday morning. it will be good to see them. anyway. that is about it for now.
have a great and fabulous weekend!

hey girl.
what a positive attitude you have. i am so proud of you. sounds like things are going well.
good news with your test results. those are great too. everything with courtneys was pretty good except his a1c. you know the drill, get it lower! he is trying. they gave him a pump to try, but we just can't afford it right now. they cut his hours again this week. he is barely working 40 hours. that is down from 60 two weeks ago. i hope that is the last cut. we can't really afford anymore.
i have even checked into a pharmacy tech job. it pays more that i make now, but i would have to work late and on the weekends. if they keep cutting, i will have too!
good luck with your parents coming down. sounds like it will be a fun, and helpful visit. if you see this before they come, tell them hello for us.
i still have something to send you. just been crazy busy. keep in touch.
love you, cindi
btw--the newest addition to the church opens tomorrow! we are super excited.
